The Outsiders: Full Curriculum

A lot of my spring has been focused on two things - reading and designing curriculum for The Outsiders, and helping my one year old daughter through some health issues.

I've spent a lot of time thinking about one of the big themes of S.E. Hinton's novel, trying to understand other people better, while hanging out for hours on end at Children's National Hospital. While I was there, I got to see an amazing pediatric art therapy program put together by a group called Tracy's Kids. Tracy's Kids helps young children and their families cope with serious illness. Check out one of their (amazing) videos below.

I really want to help support the good work this program is doing. So I've decided to release the curriculum guide I've been working on all spring for just $3 this week, and donate all the money to Tracy's Kids.

I put my heart into this one, and I think this curriculum guide is amazing. It has everything you need to take your students through The Outsiders and engage the important questions and issues of this book. It is full of creative activities, creative assessments, and creative discussion and research options.

If you'd like to get a taste of it, I've created a free download for you at the end of this post with three activities for you to start your unit with.

This unit is going to save you so much time and energy.

You can find it here. Remember it's just $3 right now and ALL proceeds will go to Tracy's Kids this week. The price will go up to $8.99 at the end of this week.
